We as young kids came across nursery rhymes and children's books. We imbibe those story and they become part of our life. Most often we do not realise that the so called children books and rhymes are not originally meant for children but they are testimony of social and political happenings of the time. Gulliver's Travel is not at all a children's novel.It is actually a blunt political satire. The rhyme BA BA BLACK SHEEP is a protest cry against heavy taxation on wool. Jack and Jill is about King Charles' taxation of liquors. At a tender age we are exposed to political and social events of yore
