Some years ago Hrishikesh Mali and myself participated in a quiz show in Guwahati.That very day Mit Chowdhury was mastering a quiz in Tezpur and hence many quizzers were absent from the Guwahati quiz. At the end of the quiz, we came third and was given a huge box as prize. Back home when I opened the box, I was amazed to see its contents.It was Sunfeast biscuits and 3 notebooks and yes a badge of one of the sponsors Indian Bamboo Board. The entire economy of Assam is sustained by Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Guwahati. Of these Dibrugarh is the highest contributor. What is there in Karbi Anglong? What is there in Bodoland or for that Goalpara, Dhubri, NC Hills. Absolutely nothing.No economy. No political contribution i.e MPs or MLAs. If I had absolute power, I would have loved to give statehood without even demand.
