According to facebook, You can have 5000 friends You can have as many Close Friends But you can have only 5 TRUSTED FRIENDS. When your account gets locked or inaccesible , facebook will send a security code to your chosen TRUSTED FRIENDS. Your trusted friends can help you recover your account. Go to Account Settings>Security Settings> Trusted Contacts to choose your TRUSTED FRIENDS
