As Dr. Manmohan Singh got elected to Rajya Sabha for 5th term my mind waved off to great leader of Assam , Hiteshwar Saikia. It was Hiteshwar Saikia's idea to get Dr.Singh elected from Assam, knowing well in advance that Dr.Singh's future is bright. Thus he ensured a better future for Assam. At the same time, this visionary leader broke the backbone of ULFA by enabling the educated Ulfa members to come to mainstream.ULFA lost its intellectual brigade just because of Hiteswar Saikia. Wish he lived in these times
