Despite big claims by political leaders of NE , they failed big time to lobby for Bharat Ratna for Bhupen Hazarika. I am sure NE politicians made half hearted attempts to lobby for Bharat Ratna or perhaps they did nothing. Mind you, Delhi is not to be blamed here. The blame lies on our leaders
